Beyond Tofu Natural Mascarpone-like Tofu

A 60 year-old tofu company called Sagamiya is currently selling various soy cheeses in regular supermarkets across Japan. They sell many of their products under the “Beyond Tofu” name. Although they do make vegan products, not everything they make is vegan. The cheeses can sometimes be found in Aeon supermarkets and can also be bought in Sagamiya’s Rakuten Ichiba shop. The company has no relation to the American company Beyond Meat. The blog Sushivoyage states that Beyond Tofu products contain palm oil.
This marscarpone-style cheese comes with olive oil as a topping. It states “100% Plant Based Foods,” “100% Dairy-Free,” and “Gluten-Free” in English on the package.
