What the highlights mean
Could be animal- or plant-derived
- 調味料（アミノ酸等） seasoning: Usually MSG and nucleotides fermented from sugarcane or starch. But a few amino acids and nucleotides allowed under this name come from animals (feathers, gelatin, fish), and the label doesn't say which were used.
- 香料 flavouring: Flavourings can come from animal or plant sources.
