- たん白加水分解物 protein hydrolysate: Broken-down protein from soy or wheat, or from meat or fish.
- 調味料(アミノ酸) seasoning: Usually MSG and nucleotides fermented from sugarcane or starch. But a few amino acids and nucleotides allowed under this name come from animals (feathers, gelatin, fish), and the label doesn't say which were used.
